Ukodhiko Endorses Oborevwori’s Second Term Bid, Says It Is Acceptable Across Isokoland
Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko has said that the people of Isoko ethnic nationality are united in support of the second term bid of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The House of Representatives member made the declaration on Saturday during the “Isoko Meet Interactive Session,” held on Saturday at the Uzere country home of former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Alexander Ogomudia
According to Hon. Ukodhiko, “Today is one of my happiest days, and I thank all the leaders of Isoko that worked together to put up this event. Yes, we are gathered to celebrate the unity of Isoko-nation. And this is to tell the world that Isoko is more united than before.
“Today affords an opportunity to be able to see ourselves for first time after a very a long time. Unity is key, unity is powerful. No nation can mover forward without being united. When some of us were campaigning for the opportunity to represent us we said the first thing to do was to see how to unite Isoko and bring our people together.
“We are committed to putting our people together. The unity of a nation cannot be overemphasized. For a long while, others have been taking Isoko nation for granted due to disunity. But today, all that has changed as we are sending a signal to the world that we are united and we will continue to put ourselves together to face the future challenges.” The Federal legislator remarked.
Lauding the Delta State Governor for his developmental strides recorded for nearly two years in office, Hon. Ukodhiko stated, the Isoko people are more united in support of the Governor Oborevwori’s second term bid.
In his words, “Come 2027 by God’s grace, we are going to return our able performing Governor, Rt Hon Sherrif Oborevwori. And when you listen to all the leaders said in this meeting, they poured accolades on him for good things he has done in Isoko-nation and Delta State at large.
“Gov Oborevwori deserves a second tenure without campaigning. Isoko is PDP. And we are out to show what we know how to do best by turning out the votes enmasse for the Governor.
“Gov. Oborevwori needs our total support and his second term is acceptable by the people. But, we will mobilize all our people to turn out the votes we have not not turned out before. Isoko has the votes. And the only way we can turn our the votes is to be united, and today’s meeting is a bold statement to that.”
Earlier in his remark, the Chief Host and Chairman, Governing Council of DELSU, Abraka , Gen. Ogomudia said the meeting symbolized a ‘united Isoko’ that would drive the ethnic group to the next level politically.
The former Army Chief commended Governor Oborevwori his good governance in Delta State which has made many media house to honour him as Governor of the year and called for more support for the Governor ahead of the 2027 general election to enable him consolidate on what he is doing.
The meeting was attended by the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial district, Sen Joel Onowakpo, represented by Mr Eloho Edivri, President-General of Isoko Development Union, Prof. Chris Akpotu, Chief of Staff to Delta State Governor, Hon Johnson Erijo and former President, Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Chief Solomon Ogba.
Others were Chairman, Skyward Group, Chief Eta Enahoro, CEO, Lesoda Oil and Gas Ltd, Chief Matthew Offeh, Chief Financial Officer, Total Energies, Mr. Frederick Asasa, Mr. Jay Ogor, members of Delta State House of Assembly, Hons. Ferguson Onwo, Bino Owhede, and Bernard Odior.
